Mayor Alexander proclaims EmpoweringHER Weekend in Norfolk
Norfolk, VA— On Sunday, August 5, the fourth installment of EmpoweringHER Brunch was held at the Courtyard by Marriot in downtown Norfolk at which time a proclamation was read marking the first weekend in August as EmpoweringHER Weekend.
EmpoweringHER is a women’s empowerment brand for business and self-care. Its mission is to empower women to act on their own authority by being in control of their destiny through educating, motivating and equipping them to expand their personal and professional lives.
Since the inception of the brunch, topics have included business branding and public relations, personal and business finances, and most recently, work-life balance. Women have traveled throughout the seven cities to attend as well as great distances such as New York, Maryland and North Carolina.
“Each sold-out brunch has been held exclusively in the City of Norfolk at the Courtyard Norfolk Downtown bringing hundreds of attendees and travelers into the heart of Hampton Roads,” said Keisha Reynolds, EmpoweringHER founder. “The brunch has transcended into a business providing resources, networking and support for women business owners in our city and it is an honor to be recognized by the Mayor’s office for this accomplishment.”
A proclamation was written under the hand of Norfolk’s Mayor Kenneth Cooper Alexander congratulating EmpoweringHER for its continuous growth and success with an unexpected surprise proclaiming the first weekend of August as EmpoweringHER Weekend.
“This is truly a great honor and one that shows that hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed,” said Reynolds.
The proclamation comes on the heels of the event announcing its next phase with an online membership platform to benefit the whole woman at EmpoweringHERWorldwide.com – which will officially launch in September 2018.
